Listening in on conversations between a racer and his crew chief, touring a NASCAR garage, and sitting directly across from the pit crew during a race is routine for racing professionals, but this was an extraordinary experience for Special Wish child, Christopher. With the help of A Special Wish Foundation, 8-year old Christopher was able to experience NASCAR racing first hand at the Richmond International Raceway and meet his racing hero, Bobby LaBonte. During the visit to the raceway, Christopher and his family toured the NASCAR garage, met LaBonte's pit crew, and even saw LaBonte's back-up car, which is a privilege reserved normally only for NASCAR representatives. "The day of the race was unbelievable," said Christopher's mother. "Christopher was able to see, feel, and hear all the action."
